The sixty eighth birthday of Ghana will forever go down as one of the best celebrations ever, as the entire country chose to subject critical national developmental agendas to it. 6th March has always been a festive day that captures citizens on streets and organized functions, to march like soldiers just to depict and commemorate the military foundation that erected the freedom we see today. Personally I have been part of this celebration from my basic school days by leading my school’s marching team on several occasions and receiving several honors to that effect.
However, I have always had other ideas when it comes to how we outline this special Ghana day. I believe it is the most important day of the country and its big signature must be capitalized by addressing the most delicate issues in the country. Not to disrespect the traditional march pass we have been having but clearly, it would be more constructive if could celebrate it in a productive style. My isolated opinion finally secured the main stream.
After marching in the sun for 67 years Ghana finally decided to represent the 68th one in different capacities to portray dynamism and value for this special day. The President of the land; His Excellency John Dramani Mahama had a simple but very iconic gathering with the fathers of the land and decentralized it to regions in different capacities base on their preference. This led the Ashanti Regional Minister ‘ Dr. Frank Amoakohene’ to lead a historic clean up exercise across the city of Kumasi. This program was highly patronized by all stake holders and left a mark of good sanitation on the minds of Ghanaians.
The Iconic festive Sixth March gave this sanitation agenda which was executed by the minister a big signature. And Withope Foundation, being an organization that blows out good health to the masses, had to hold a big chair in the certain. The youthful exuberance of the honorable minister is really manifesting and it is a good one for the Ashanti region as much as health is concern.
Another outstanding event that climax our 68th birthday was the Confidence Conference held by Mrs Anita Kusi Boateng at the power cathedral. This was a special program designed to restore confidence in women and also broaden their intellect when it comes to their socioeconomic and spiritual life. The charismatic mother of the house, Mrs. Anita Kusi Boateng chaired the program and remarkably made it befit a festive grand durbar as it was expected to be. Her words of inspiration caught the hearts of the audience including myself and opened a new chapter spiced with unmatched confidence to us all.
Withope Foundation always stands for good health like I have already mentioned, so the stand out session in the outline was when Dr. Ruth Owusu Antwi and Dr. Lydia Kessewaa Gyan Kesse assumed the pulpit and educated us on our mental health and skin health respectively. This was a great time for everyone who understands the significance of good health. Withope has always affirmed that, every potential has one determinant factor which is the state of your health. Therefore health must always be key in our as and decisions, and Power Chapel’s Confidence Conference thought as such.
Mama Anita also had a special package for the entire congregation to mark its festivity. There was a free breakfast and lunch for all attendees, and a photo studio specially designed for everyone who wanted to keep the day in his/her gallery. The atmosphere was very colorful and refreshing. Well, Power Chapel is noted for excellent.
6th March 2025 was historic and will forever remain in the history of Ghana as the day churches, organizations and institutions decided to amplify the most important pillars of our socioeconomic lives. Long live Ghana
